Sidney Speakeasy vol. 4 ft. Savour the Wild & Holocene Distilling

Four volumes in, the speakeasy keeps finding new company. On Friday, December 11th, from 6PM - 10PM, the Small Gods Brewing Taproom becomes a communal speakeasy for one night, with a chef who cooks on the BC coast and a Cobble Hill distillery whose honey nettle gin keeps collecting medals.

WHAT TO EXPECT

Four-Course Snack Menu from Chef Colton Armstrong-Ashley of Savour the Wild

Colton is the head chef and founder of Savour the Wild, which hosts multi-course private dinners in remote coastal corners of British Columbia. His menus follow the season and the water, featuring wild-caught seafood, foraged ingredients, and produce from local farms. The idea behind it all is simple: strangers turn into friends once they're sharing a good meal. For Vol. 4, Colton brings that spirit indoors to Third Street, with four snacks that he'll plate and present to our guests himself.

Custom Holocene Distilling Project Cocktail Pairings

Holocene was founded in Cobble Hill by an engineer & a herbalist, Dorian Redden and Aisling Goodman, and makes its gin, vodka, and botanical liqueurs from scratch on Vancouver Island. Their Honey, I'm Home gin was named Best in Class Flavoured Gin at the Canadian Artisan Spirit Competition in both 2025 and 2026. Our very own Taproom Manager, Katie Slacks, is designing an à la carte cocktail menu around Holocene's spirits, with drinks matched to each of Colton's snacks.
